Did you guess where our Belle bag is?
Our Belle bag photos this issue come from Larissa Powers in St. Louis, Missouri (USA), who last
summer agreed to help her friends, Teresa Carey and Ben Eriksen, film part of their exploration of a simplier life voyaging aboard a
small sailboat in the North Atlantic seas of the Canadian maritime provinces. The result is "One Simple
Question" a documentary film about adventure, challenge, simplicity and happiness, and is due for release this year. The Belle bag is
hanging from the main sail of the boat with the island of St. Pierre in the background. A self-governing
territory of France, it sits off the southern coast of Newfoundland, Canada, and Larissa reports that
they have excellent cheese!
Thumbnails, left to right:
1. "Chocolate Donut" the trusted dinghy perched at the mouth of beautiful stream situated at the head of La Hune, a fjord on the southern coast of Newfoundland.
2. A stunning waterfall graces the cliffs surrounding Dead Man's Cove. The cove is appropriately named after the black flies, who will try their hardest to eat you alive.
3. Elizabeth, the 28 foot Bristol Channel Cutter that the crew called home during the voyage, takes shelter in La Hune fjord, waiting patiently for favorable winds on the open ocean.
